That said, disconnects are normally caused by problems on the client end or a hop between the client and the server.
The clients don't directly connect to each other, as far as I'm aware, so your opponent wouldn't be able to make your client disconnect in any case.
The original poster is right. And he was nice enough to say "I don't blame my opponent, etc..." I tell you for SURE it is your opponent who hampered with the system (I am not a hacker but I know there is a way around it) to signal temporary disconnection (when there is no real one) and steal your time. That is what cheaters do, and this web site is FULL of them.
