I guess it was a giant chess.com bug that screwed half of the people playing including you and me at that particular moment
I see.. well, it almost happened again.. turns out its impossible to play smoothly right now :/

Just because one site is working does not mean that the path to another isn't having issues and those issues may be unrelated to the site. That said, due to the current situation, the site, and the internet in general, has a lot more traffic than normal so there is likely to be additional lag and potential for disconnects.
There are some things that can be done to minimize problems, but while the increased traffic exists, there is only so much that can really be done.
