Lost my Post

I typed up a post for one of the Vote Chess discussions and when I was done I hit "Save and preview." I didn't see a preview at all, and so far I've been unsuccessful in finding out if it was actually saved, and where. It was pretty long, so I don't want to retype it. Does anyone know what happened?

If you didn't actually hit the "Submit" button, then it probably wasn't posted. I'd be careful with really long posts, though. I think there might be a limit to how much you can write in one post, but I could be wrong.

Once I figured out how to use this, it is actually quite helpful, but yes, it does need to be a bit clearer on "where it goes" when you click "Save and Preview".  Actually, if you go to "My Home" (upper right hand corner) and then scroll to the bottom of the page under "My Recent Activity", you will find it there, along with a note in red next to it saying Not Published.  Then click on it there and you can Submit it from there, or edit and resave without submitting if you want.  But, now that you know where all "Saved and Previewed" (and not submitted) things go, you can use this as your own personal storage place -- I have many annotated games I have built that I just want to see myself.  I create them, and then click "Save and Preview" without publishing, and they are always saved in my "Recent Activity" queue without being published.  I have posted directions for how to store a personal game like this here.  Hope this helps!

I tried to post a suggestion 4 minutes after erik's #4. I lost my post due to not following my own advice. I lost my connection and could not get back on for hours. If your connection has a problem just when you press save or submit, your post is probably lost. Before that, highlight your post and press Ctrl-C to save it on your computer, which will keep it even if the internet goes down. Later, when your connection is good, reinstate the post with Ctrl-V. I am going to do that this time before I hit submit.

Also as added security, open up a Notepad document and Ctrl-V (paste) the text into that and save, that way when the internet comes back up, you will still have your text regardless whether you copy something else or shut down your computer!
