In your theme, you can change the color of text, display boxes, drop downs and more. You can also add a background and change icons that are displayed. After you are done with theme and like what it looks like, click save theme and it will be added to http://www.chess.com/home/themes All themes and My themes tabs in the Custom Themes Page

I can't see the account option

But how do I make my own custom theme?

You can upload your own background and select from the available options on the other items, but that's the limit on customization.
