Missing pieces on turn-based chess games

I'm getting missing pieces on my 'Online Chess' games...  I've tried logging out and logging back in, but they're still missing!  This doesn't happen with Firefox, only with Chrome.  Has anyone else experienced this?

maximus_dragon

maybe they got captured

God I hope you're joking...

GmatCat

Look at your moves list to make sure..

phindex

Oh my god...  Guys...  I'm not an idiot.  There are missing highlighted pieces...  as in, the last move is only represented by the two yellow squares...

Ya know what, nevermind.

Is your computer turned on?

Sry - couldn't resist. ;)

xMenace

I've heard of chess blindness, but this ...

erik

clear your browser cache. (control+R)

phindex

Thanks erik, but I tried refreshing several times...  then closed out the browser, restarted...  and as I said before, logged out, and then logged back in...

I think more than a fix action, I was looking for confirmation that someone else had experienced this.

Guess it's back to Firefox.

 Excellent!

Fix action:  Uninstalled and re-installed Chrome.

Thanks for all the help.  The level of maturity and professionalism was overwhelming.

it is odd why browsers will at times do weird things like cache missing images, etc. dealing with browser weirdness is the hardest part of web development.

I lost them too. Playin real-time live chess, not turn based mail-like chess.

i was browsing with Opera.

I send a request to Chess.com and they told they don't fully support Opera.

I dislike it really much so I decided that I will only play mail-like chess here.

They shoud design the place to suite to any browser.

or, maybe opera should build their browser to work with any website? and in the time it would take to make sure chess.com worked 100% with every single browser then we would have a perfectly 100% functioning website with 30% of the features.

To be fair, they're reacting to past experience. Every so often someone puts up a rant about how the system malfunctioned or his opponent cheated, and describes a scenario indicating that (1) his opponent captured a pawn en passant and (2) he didn't know that rule.

Sorry to hear about your technical troubles, and I hope (and suspect) that Firefox will help.

Fair enough...
