your phone must support Java 2 and have a connection to http (browser, etc).
i read on here: http://www.wirelessinfo.com/content/LG-Voyager-Cell-Phone-Review/Software.htm that your phone does not support java. sorry! i recommend you maybe try mobile Opera browser.
So if I am using a phone that enables JavaScript but doesn't show Java elements in the browswer (taken from the above site mentioned by Erik) I can't use the mobile phone chess app? I do have it installed, and I can see the list of games, but can't open them. The phone is a Blackberry Storm.
The mobile chess app does not have anything to do with phone browsers or javascript. The reason the mobile chess app doesn't work for you is because it doesn't support touch phones.
How do i get started using mobile phone for chess.com,any particular phone recommendation,any other advice most welcome,
You just download the app to your mobile. Seems like Nokia and Sony Ericsson phones have the least issues. The mobile app does not support pure touch screen phones. However some of the guys on the site actually got it to work with the Blackberry Storm.
Flanne, are you able to point some of the guys who got it working with the Storm to this thread so they can enlighten those of us, me, who have not been able to? Or is there a post they have written that I can refer to?
I would appreciate those of you out there who have successfully downloaded chess.com and are using it on their mobile phone to let me know what the mobile phone they are using is.

i used it a couple times, i dont have internet plan so i just used it like 3 times to try it out..
i use sony ecrisson
Does it not work with pre-paid phones? I have a motorola trac-phone, but when I try to acces the web address i get a "Error 403 Forbidden" message. And when I try to download it instead I get an "Authentication" failure message. Will this not work for my phone.
Thanks for the link Flanne, following those instructions my Storm seems to be working perfectly with Mobile Chess. Great stuff.
