I log in and play Online chess using an iMac, then sometimes an iPad, and until very recently sometimes an iPhone. This way I nearly always have access to my recent craving for chess on line, no matter where I am.

Sometimes I am logging in on a device, whilst already logged in on another device.

Could this explain why, I have all manner of odd difficulty, swapping from analyses to game explorer and back to the game I am playing.

Problems only occur when I am using the iMac.

So I can help better on this for you, can you explain what kinds of problems its causing?

Wow Thankyou! Most ften I have difficulty 'making my move' I use both the 'drag' method and the 'click the piece and click the destination' method. I make the move then after a half to 1 second delay the piece returns to its original position. If I repeat more than a couple of times, I am logged out. That is the chess board changes colour and I am instructed to log on.

This also occurs if I switch from turn-based game to analyse and make test moves on the analyse screen. Thankyou for any help.

Which device is this happening on?

Mac, iPhone or iPad?

When the board changes colors, is that on the mac in live chess?

As for the log out issue, you may want to try logging off the other devices first and just logging in from one at a time, then see if the 'log-off' issue still happens.

Non-members can access several chess.com features including Game Exlorer. If I do not log in, the Game Explorer screen has a green and white board, unlike the colours I have chosen in 'settings'.

I have no problems with chess.com when I use my iPad.

I didn't have problems with my iPhone, but cannot now use the iPhone due to an enhancement that requires a non-luddite iPhone. Pity, but I can live without it :)

Chess using iMac (my choice at all times when not away from home) is the device that gives me the reported problems. Making moves 'stay put' is one. This occurs more often than not. And occurs in online-chess as well as in Analysis mode or in Game Explorer.  Oddly, using the '<' key a few times then returning via the '>'  key before making a move appears to fix the problem for that occasion.

Again thanks for the interest in my problems!

I'm on a Mac now,  which version of Safari are you using?

BeemanDownUnder

Am away from home at the moment but will reply on my return. Thank you.

BeemanDownUnder

Version 5.1.7 (6534.57.2)

kohai

Are you able to play using any other browser than Safari 5.1.7 ?

Its being reported as having quite a few issues on it lately.

BeemanDownUnder

OK. Thank you. I shall look into it.

I suspect that may be the issue, so I will not expect any further help on this until I have found another browser, or another version even. If the problem persists see your doctor. No. I shall raise another forum discussion point or return mail using this "help-support" item.

Yet again. Thankyou. Am most impressed with chess.com help :)
