It must have been a network issue. You are allowed to think for as long as you want. Sometimes, when I'm playing and my wifi randomly disconnects it will take a bit before it says I disconnected.
My game abandoned after i didnt make a move for 1m and 30 seconds.
I don't think that is the case here. I would know if my internet disconnected or if it became slow since there is an indicator near the rating, i didn't saw it turn red
The only other thing I can think of the game being abandoned is if you were banned in the middle of it, which, obviously, you were not. Like I said, sometimes it takes a long time for chess.com to say you've disconnected. I've lost a few games because of that.
You can't use more than half the base time control on moves 2-10. After that you can use as much time as you have available.

I was currently thinking for my move after he played Qb6. Since i am not familiar with this line, i didnt realize i was thinking for 1m and 30 s already.
Then my game suddenly says game abandoned, no warnings, my game ended. I didnt swich to another tab nor closed the site, it was the active tab. My signal is also consistent 3-2 bar when i was playing, it never became 1 bar.
Is this normal in blitz, Im pretty sure u can think for more than 1 m and 30 s in rapid but now im not sure if it applies to blitz
