My moves won't register in games

Sort:

Whenever I try to start blitz games or bullet, all my games get aborted because chess.com thinks I haven't made  a move. But I have. The clock just keeps running as if I haven't made a move, and then the game aborts. Anyone had same issue? It's been like this for many days now.

Are you using the app? What platform is it?

It could be your connection. Perhaps when you're trying to move your connection isn't good so by the time the move reaches chess.com servers u have timed out.

However send a ticket to chess.com and get a staff member to help u out it will be quicker than asking help here: https://support.chess.com/article/346-contact-us

I am having this issue. Just wondering if you found a reason or solution?

Nope. I used ethernet cable directly into PC and had 100 mbits up/down so should be stable. I moved to a new apartment now, haven't had any trouble so far.

There u go, so it was ur connection that was the issue.

Thanks

Nah bro, I keep having the same issue from time to time, and trust me, I have insanely strong internet and there is no connection issues, there are no device issues etc. It’s chess.com servers that just brainfart from time to time… I wish chess.com could fix this for once..

DerBlunderMeister

Yeah I tried switching to a different browser and even tried the app, nothing worked

I made a move and thought my opponent abandoned the game. Then chess.com said I needed to make a move or I would forfeit. I refreshed the page and made the move again, and it said I ran out of time and lost the game. Now I can't join a new game.

There is currently an issue with live and staff are actively working on resolving.

Had this issue all night and have now lost several games because of it. No internet connection problems. Unacceotable.
