Chain mail is just annoying and childish. There's lots of idiotic people on sites like myspace and youtube which is why it gets posted around, but I'd expect a chess site to be a website of more intelligent people, so chain mail and spam in general shouldn't be happening.

Nevertherewas a more useless thread than this, forsooth, nor more ridiculous misunderstandings than in this little corner of the web, whereby, thinking that they (in their youthful folly), did proliferate in text - both large and colorful fonts, let's not forget - and didst the grevious injury to their peers thereby - through the reproductionof said text then the sending thereby via messages, in the city of Chessdotcom.

Now! Let the jury clearly hear, that the defendants, Madam Saukura and Mister Rich, cannot be called criminals in intent, no! for they clearly meant no harm through what they surely felt was but a friendly advance (in their youthful folly).

But circumstances favored them not, nay - for they had the misfortune of running askance of one Mister Mercytonoonz, who saw the flowers on his doorstep and became haughy thereby, and didst cry his discomfort out into the streets so all the townsfolk might gather and see the evil did he'd been done (such an isolated incident was this that in retrospect similar flowers were found at only a few of the townsfolks doorways).

This is the quintessential mountain of a non-issue! I only stop and gawk at the immensity of its meaninglessness - the actual distortion of space time such as any and all who step into this thread find themselves in such an abyss of utter vacuity as they almost cannot help to gasp and the glory of its shere emptiness. Never has a complaint been so exquisitely meaningless as in this case.

Never was there a more tragic figure in modern theatre than the misbegotten Mercytonoonez, who woke one day to find that he indeed had within his mailbox

This blasphemous atrocity of profane symbology, this malignant glare from some mortibund pit of the living obscene, arriving unawares like a Carebear Stare sans countdown.

I can just see Mercytonoonez eyes trembling, filling with tears as he beholds the rainbow array embalzoned across his computer screen, their delightful dappled sizes causing his blood pressure to spike, recoiling at the offense to the senses that was this cybernetic cloak of many colors.

Yes, I paint a picture for you of his injury. It has not been easy for him to come before you, raise his complaint high and share it with the world, but let us celebrate his courage in having done so for us today.

That we too, might be free from this scourge of loving spam which hangs like rot in the sky over the noble city of Chessdotcom. Sakura and Rich shall be tarred and feathered and sent to the pillory.

Worry not, Mercytonoonez, this indignity will never again be done to thee, thy enemies have been duly reprimanded, and you may rest easy that men like AWARDCHESS are here to help you purge the Chain Mail from the Chess Kingdom.

An emphatic sigh at thee, sir.

Yes I do bite my thumb.

There's nothing wrong with chain mail in my opinion. As far as I'm concerned it's not too different from using plate armor. Could be a bit heavy though.

I hope I didn't misunderstand something now...

I just use +1 light leather armor and a small shield.  I have a pretty high dexterity, so I don't really need the extra protection.  Besides, if I ever get low on HP, I just back off and start firing arrows.  :)
