When you're playing in live chess, do you have anything else enabled on the computer that uses sound? like skype or youtube pages?
Normally if you restart the browser, it should return the sound for you.

thanks, i deleted my cookies and stuff and that worked. maybe i disabled sound in the past and it got stuck that way
well, once more the sound is not working

No I did not and I restarted my browser many times
Never did have sound with live chess. Still don't. Help!

which browser and version are you using and on which OS / OSX ?
I have the latest Safari on iPad.
Wow really? But I have sound on turn-based chess and I still lose. In fact the only game i've ever won by way of checkmate was live(I was like 2 moves away from checkmate, but my opponent resigned).
I won a few more games just now because I moved quickly in 1 minute games, it's very pressuring.

Depending on your settings, that switch will (when set to orange) either mute the ringer or lock device orientation (so the screen doesn't rotate when you turn it).
I have confirmed that if you have "Mute" set as the function of this switch, it WILL mute the audio from our videos. For whatever reason, other media (i.e. from YouTube) does still make sounds. Games don't.
Can you check your settings to see if this is the cause of no sounds on your games?

You won't be able too from the app.
The app is for playing online games, live chess, chess videos, tactics trainer and vs computer.
MY SOUND DOESNT WORK AND IM USING MAC MINI. I RESET BROWSER, DELETED CACHE AND COOKIES AND SOUND IS ENABLED BUT NOTHING STILL PLEASE HELP??
i can't hear sounds in live chess. i don't hear the beep of a game beginning or the sound of the pieces even though in settings "enable sounds" is checked. i use mozilla firefox. other sounds on my computer work if i were to play a song or something.
