App, because I'm a kid and my dad has Apple Pay set up oh his phone. It was easier. (also I got the iOS achievement)

That is likely the reason. The app purchase process requires some manual steps and that probably doesn't trigger the achievement.

Its just a achievement you get for supporting chess.com but a lot of people are not getting it sadly
