Today things just became useable again on this site.  I've been having to bypass direct use of Chess.com in favor of using the "Facebook" alternate method.  For the last couple of weeks, I've had impossible times with lags beyond belief, where there might be 10 minutes or more just sitting there waiting for a response after a move on postal style chess.  Or simply switching sections.  Lots of times not just lags but enormous crashes and freeze ups.  It was just getting and staying ridicules.  I didn't change much.  Just ordinary settings.   Facebook was absolutely necessary if I was to play practical chess where players could expect moves from me in my games.  Does anyone in the technical brains department know what might have been going on?  It could not have been just my computer since nothing was actually changed other than just day to day stuff with virus control  and that kind of thing.  I hope it stays this way.  It's better to play chess on the actual site instead of Facebook.  You don't have the junk on the side for one and the board is bigger.

When that happened before, did you clear your cache? Try that next time you get behavior like that.

It wasn't anything like that.  Yes of course I did clear it.  That in itself didn't make the difference.  I would of just been done with the problem there.
