PGN

I have 2 questions:

1.  What does it stand for?

2.  Where does it get saved?

I saved one record using the "browse" menu to my own desktop, but where does it go if I just click on the "save"?

It just offers a choice of applications, which I then have to save where I want it.

I used Excel, but there may be better apps for it.

When you click on the PGN icon you are offered: Open with (browse) or Save File.

When you choose Open with you are offered your available apps, but when you choose Save File nothing happens visibly.  I was just wondering whether it may go into something like your ChessBase, where I could view it.
