Piece sticks to mouse icon

Hi everyone

I have been using Google Chrome for a long time and it has always worked great. But now when I click the piece in a game, the piece will not release from the mouse icon.

Any help, please?

Thanks

what is the operating system? anyway if you downloaded/installed firefox, you could see if it's a chrome issue right away  - then you could get lazy and use firefox for chess if it worked. try clicking/dragging in another web page using chrome. maybe another chess site, and maybe a non-chess site. just thinking about narrowing it down. the mouse clicks/drags/releases okay everywhere else? try to narrow it down

is the mouse driver up to date?

if it's windows, you could try mousekeys - left shift-ctrl-numLock, hold them down in that order - then click yes - now put the mouse over the piece, press the ins key ON THE KEYPAD (under numbers keys on the right side of the keyboard), drag the piece with the mouse, then press del, also on the keypad - btw you can still use your mouse the normal way with mousekeys turned on

there's always the idea of uninstall, then re-install the latest chrome version, if it only does it in chrome ...

maybe try a different mouse, if you can a a hold of one ...

i would be most curious about where it is doing this behavior.

Thanks for your reply

I did reinstall Chrome and it worked one time then same problem

I am using XP

Also, sometimes I can only move one move then freezes and have to resign

I also hit 'Ctrl' and F5 and sometimes works for a while after that

I will try Firefox and let you know how it went.

Thanks again

I'm having the same problem using Win7 and Chrome.  Everything was working fine until a few weeks ago.  It's hard to characterize the problem, but edenhope described it pretty well.  Did you have luck with FireFox, edenhope?
