Posting games on other websites?

Hi guys,

I've seen you post PGN/FEN files on the forums here, but is there a way to post them onto say Livejournal or Blogspot or something?  I'm figuring out how to use chesspad but i'm not sure how to do this.  i'd love to annotate a game for my friends who read my Livejournal but i dont' know if it's possible.

thanks!

I suggest you just paste the pgn file onto the desired website...

yeah, i've been just pasting games--i figured out how to take snapshots using jpegs and bmp files--i just noticed that a feature of the site is to import pgn files, and I thought maybe it was possible to show them elsewhere.

I'm still swimming around the site figuring stuff about it (and how to use PGN files...and the internet obviously Smile) out.  I may just start a journal on here and link people to it.

anyway, thanks so much, and Erik--a big hat's off to you, this site is incredible!

Just use the post your reply in the window at the bottom of this page and follow the instructions, you see the checkboard on the left hand side this is where you start.

Does that work on other websites now?

I have not tried but you may be able to use the copy and paste feature, it's worth trying.

Alternatively there are a number of free softwares available on the internet and perhaps you can use one of them to paste your games and again copy and paste to your journal.

copy>paste will paste only the diagram image and not the script that make playable!

I'm interested too in a solution to paste onto an external website

In the meantime, you could always post the move list, have the occasional diagram (like in a book), and for one of the diagrams, have it link to a page on chess.com, where the script will run correctly.
