Perhaps the billing department of Google Play is at fault. You should write to them too and find out when they sent your payment to chess.com.
Hi, I tried to update my Credit Card details as the old card expired and so my Platinum membership tomorrow, but the page did not accept my credit card valid till 12/2019. (This worked during the last 4 years)
So what should I do now?
