Problem signing up for gold membership

When I choose a gold membership for a year and Paypal as the payment method, the Paypal page tells me that they can't process my request and I should return to chess.com and select "another option".  How can I fix this?

Try going into paypal and making a payment to

order@chess.com

It could be that at the time you were trying to make the payment paypal were doing maintenence on their pages.

Ok, I will transfer the money directly.  However, I don't think that the problem was due to maintainence because I tried on several days and always get the same error message.  BTW, I was using Google Chrome version 16.0.912.63.
