Puzzle Journey Benchmarks never actually give the bonus points

Any time that I have hit a "major benchmark" for solving X number of puzzles, it will show the points being added to the bar.  But as soon as I tap 'next' to move to the next puzzle, it resets my point total to before the benchmark was tallied, and it also appears to remove any points awarded for speed or my streak bonus as well.

I've only ever seen that on the first puzzle of a session. In those cases, what happens is it gives you the same puzzle as your previous session and gives all the bonuses but should not have given those. So when the next puzzle loads, the original points are shown.

Maybe try to update the app? But yeah, I have noticed this bug in the past too.

I just googled the issue and here I am. Same issue. And it's not just the first puzzle. It happens frequently.

It looks like it only happens with the extra hard puzzle major benchmarks 100 and 150.

Just happened to me too 75 bonus points for a number of “ hard “ puzzles - gone as soon as I pressed for next puzzle ! Chess.com , please explain !

Staff have a bug report ticket in on issues like that but as far as I'm aware it's intermittent and the root cause hasn't been tracked down yet

It's happened to me 6 times in just last week. Its probably been happening the whole time I just recently started watching my points cause I'm getting close to 1/4 million. I've started taking a screen shot everytime I hit a benchmark to make sure I'm not imaging this.

What version is your app?

Version 4.6.26 and it just did it again and it wasn't a BM it just dropped 8 points

I'm on 4.6.7 which is rolling out and I'm pretty sure I only saw one loss of points in my last 42 successful puzzles. Not sure if there are some fixes in for the feature or not.

We should escalate this to a P0. Tag Danny. Get Hikaru involved. Needs to be resolved before I solve another 50 hard puzzles.

on a serious note ... thanks for the quick reply. Solving puzzles is a super fun part of the app.

The extra points for hitting a BM pushed me up a level. Then points disappeared of course but I was still on new level. Can someone please fix this glitch it is very aggravating. I'm not gonna stop doing puzzles but everytime I hit BM or personal best on a streak or puzzle rating I feel like I'm being robbed

It's a bug that staff are aware of. I've lost thousands of points on it
