No. Simply close IE and reopen the tab and get back in ASAP. Keeping a bookmarked link with IE remembering your name and password helps.
This happened to my opponent today in a 10 minute game FOUR TIMES IN A SINGLE GAME!!!!! The site is acting a bit strange today but otherwise, things are running smoothly.
Thanks. Unfortunately, I did not try to reconnect because the message said it was reconnecting but the little square icon kept turning and it never reconnected. Strangely, I was disconnected during my opponents turn and his timer kept ticking away and eventually ran out of time. So I don't know what that means.
It's not a problem with a browser... It's a problem with your internet provider... Even the most reliable ISP has occasional timeouts (usually while you're playing a VERY importan chess game).
were you downloading something or even watching Youtube at the same time?
My ISP might have timed out momentarily which bring me to the my next question. When you get the message "Connection interupted, Reconnecting", should you log out and reconnect yourself? And what happens when you reconnect? How do you find your game? If you log in to chess.com does it automatically take you back to your unfinished game. Does the clock keep ticking while your gone?

You don't have to refresh the page at all. The live chess app will automatically reconnect you when it's possible.

It is a constantly recurring event now. "reconnecting" stays on the screen yet never connects. Once again the only cure is to resetnetwork connections on my iPad. This is a terrible way to have to use the application.
After a year of paying...and playing, I've determined that it is almost impossible to play live chess on the ipad...or even the iphone, due to constant disconnections. I have highspeed connection, as well as cell connectivity; it doesnt matter. The ipad has to be reset constantly to get back in game. Tens of games lost due this issue. Other flaws in the application show that it is not grade A. I'm getting out before I spend another dime.
Ive problem: I can play online chess but not live chess cos when I touch the live chess button I see "reconnecting" I never saw this before but now I cant play live this whole day :(, anyone know what this is?

Ok,in the middle of a live online chess game I got this message. What do I do now? It won't reconnect even though I have perfectly good internet on my end. I am using internet explorer 10 with windows 7 and have no other internet problem. I'm afraid if I exit out I will get a loss from an abandoned game. What should I do? Just leave it hanging with the error message stating its reconnecting?
