With 2 moves to go before I won, I was suddenly disconnected out and when I came back I received this message. Can somebody explain this to me?

You will probably want to take this up with an admin. Maybe its a bug.

that is it. 'live chess' by whatever name works and should work exactly that way. e.g. at fics, set noescape 1, and put 'noescape' in your formula - then the above situation will produce the same result it did here.
