*If the game is less than 4-5 moves, there is no rating adjustment (unless its a tournament or Team Match game)
*If your opponent times out on a whole bunch of games, they only lose points (and their opponents only gain points) for the first couple.
I just won two of my games in a world league match on timeouts. That is a bit odd because I have my settings set to NOT automatically claim wins on time. They do say that it happens automatically for tournament games, but does it also happen automatically for Team Match games?
The other odd part is that neither of these wins affected my ratings or his at all (and the World League Team Match is rated, I checked). He was only 50 points below me, so a win should have done something. A possibility is that these games were only 2.5 and 2 moves long. I definitely didn't deserve to have my rating change for that "win" (part of the reason I don't claim time victories), but did chess.com know that? What if the game was 40 moves in, and I was about to checkmate? Then if he times out and I don't claim timeout victories, I get no credit for my work? Although I'm happy I didn't get credit for dumb 'victories' the implications of what just happened are worrisome.
Is something wrong here??
