rated games not changing my rating

I just won two of my games in a world league match on timeouts.  That is a bit odd because I have my settings set to NOT automatically claim wins on time.  They do say that it happens automatically for tournament games, but does it also happen automatically for Team Match games?

The other odd part is that neither of these wins affected my ratings or his at all (and the World League Team Match is rated, I checked).  He was only 50 points below me, so a win should have done something.  A possibility is that these games were only 2.5 and 2 moves long.  I definitely didn't deserve to have my rating change for that "win" (part of the reason I don't claim time victories), but did chess.com know that?  What if the game was 40 moves in, and I was about to checkmate?  Then if he times out and I don't claim timeout victories, I get no credit for my work?  Although I'm happy I didn't get credit for dumb 'victories' the implications of what just happened are worrisome.

Is something wrong here??

*If the game is less than 4-5 moves, there is no rating adjustment (unless its a tournament or Team Match game)

*If your opponent times out on a whole bunch of games, they only lose points (and their opponents only gain points) for the first couple.

The game has to be 3 or less for it not to have it's rating change, that is why with the 4 move checkmate would make your rating change. Trust me, my first game had a 4 move checkmate and it made my rating drastically go down.

Wrong on both counts.

1 - Currently resignations always count.

2 - Timeout floor. See post 101, unless someone in the thread has blocked you or me.

Perhaps someone knows the minimum number of moves for a timeout to count?

Edit: The game Archive of brodgers for 03/30/2008, indicates 3 and a half moves (7 ply) is enough for a ratings change when the game ends in a timeout.

Nice find, thanks for the links to those other threads!

1) Right.  But in Seek matches, before X ply, there is an Abort option, in lieu of Resign.

2) I'm 99% sure that's been changed since, a quick look at my completed Online Games will show you there are several times I won on time and got no rating boost.
