is it allowed to resign loads of matches to lower your rating, enter lower level tournaments, win them and do it all over again? check out the user "jjuanito".

i speak of online chess, not live.

It is frowned upon. And if a chess.com rep would see it, he may be blocked.

it is the pleasure of defeating a opponent who is higher ranked than you that makes you want to play. If you resign as stated you will not be actually enjoying the game.

I don't know why anybody would just want to win low rated tournaments when they were capable of competing at a higher level. Really stupid. They need to get lives.

@OP: The behavior is actually disallowed, as well as dishonorable. People found engaging in this behavior (called "sandbagging") are banned.

It is "allowed" only insofar as any cheating is "allowed," until the cheater is caught. But Chess.com does not stand for it.
