Sandbagger in tournament

Hello, so we have a sandbagger currently rated 1600 in a fischer random tournament for people <1000.

I can understand people ranked up to 1200 points or something like that, but 1600 is just too much to handle. Can something be done here ? Thanks for the response.

The player would have been under 1000 when the tournament started. If the obviously dropped their rating before the event, you can report them.

Hi, thanks for the response.

What if he created account just to join ?The account is quite new and his name is: [removed -- MS], which feels sus aswell. He also ranked up fast. I think he is either cheating or smurfing on a new account. Maybe neither and in that case well played, but I am not gonna play another tournament and actually try, just to later get clapped by a Terminator.

Is there no rating cap by any chance? I was very excited about this tournament and now I am frustrated and quite sad, it was my first tournament aswell. You can't convince me this is fair or a bad luck in any way. Thanks

There's no cap for rating gained after a tournament starts. Some tournaments set a minimum number of games completed to join,  which van help prevent new underrated accounts somewhat.
