self analysis - new arrows

With the new update, they’ve added directional arrows for suggested moves. It’s not helpful, it’s confusing and distracts from the process of analyzing your match.

Is there any way to disable it?

If you mean the best move in the computer analysis, just turn on the self-analysis in the top right above the variations/lines

it still happens on “self analysis”

i am on app too and it is already a stripped down version with limited options

it is foisted and i cant find where to turn it off

review a puzzle? arrows everywhere

review a game? even in self analysis? arrows everywhere

i was a diamond member for years until this year but since i only use the app it is a waste of money because no real features

unable to use links to join/sign up for tournaments or clubs

nightmare for uploading and pasting games
etc

now- with these arrows everywhere i cant even analyze in peace

now i only play a game on site then take pgn to another app where i can properly analyze and annotate

site mite be fine for browser users but the app is not doing it for me

how do we get rid of these horrible arrows?

Agree. It is a brand new feature and I don’t like it either. I like to be able to consider the board again without this help. A switch to turn it off would be great.

Thanks for the posts. I just was searching for a way to turn off these arrows in the analysis mode (while in puzzles) and couldn’t for the life of me figure out a way to do it. Quite annoying! At least, now I know I’m not crazy.

I believe you can also eliminate them by drawing over them or cancelling them like normal arrows, not sure if that helps though.

Not much. because all the arrows come back as soon as you go to the next move. It seems to be an app only problem because I don’t have this issue on my computer. It really is distracting though. Is it even self-analysis if the arrows tell you every move?

I would also like to express my annoyance over these arrows. Self-analysis should not have arrows. It's self-analysis. At the very least we should be allowed to toggle them off. This is ridiculous.

Surely they will remove this, it’s pointless using self analysis if the computer tells you the best move. Get rid of the arrows!!

Completely agree with all of the comments on this, it's a terrible new feature. They should make it optional.

totally agreed. did anyone downgrade by no now because of this? i never really downgraded an app on ios, but i guess its not that hard, is it?

Waiting for an update indeed! Arrows and hints should definitely be optional.

As a paying member, I would expect the development team to follow up on new features and 1) see how they function 2) see how they are received by members. At this point all I hear are crickets. There are no less than 6 posts, probably more, in three different forums over the last several days. No replies whatsoever from chess.com. This will be a deal-breaker for me if it is not addressed.

Agreed. The arrows in the app are horrible.  Developers, please provide a way to disable.

Yeah totally agree with you annoying arrow should be only a option .  Also analyze is too poor
