I've had part of my board disappear in Online Chess (I don't play Live Chess) - in my case, a hard refresh (ctrl-f5) did the trick.

so you can't see the pieces? what browser are you using? have you tried clearing your browser cache?

been having the same problem for the last few weeks. I have also
been getting overlays stuck in the middle of the game box that will
not refresh without closing live chess and logging back in.
yeah what can be done to rectify this so i can play a game?

This is what I would try.
close everything
go to filehippo.com and download and install CCleaner.
after the download make sure your browser is closed.
after installation run the cleaner and registry check - back up
your registry before you correct any problems (it will tell you how)
when the dust clears reboot your pc and try again.
i am disappointed. i have not been able to play for two days. i want to know if anyone else experienced this problem. i can't figure out just what is wrong and this is very frustrating. i do hope that someone reads this and does something to correct the situation. thanks,
