Site is slow

Hello. I notice the site is very slow sometimes. Pages are slow to load and videos do not load at all. I am using Mozilla Firefox and I am almost certain it is not my connection/computer's fault (other sites work fine).

Anybody else having the same problem? Any suggestion? Thanks

Exal

Yeah, I also noted that, I think the cause is the meebo chat (I personally dislike the meebo chat, by the way, I'm here to play chess).

If it is Meebo, as Exal suggests...you can turn off Meebo in your privacy settings, I think.  I have it turned off and I don't experience any abnormal lag...

Lievin

Thank you, but Meebo is not the cause, as I have it turned off also.

The point is that I was thinking of getting diamond membership in order to have access to videos; but having to wait 2 or 3 hours to download a video would not be reasonable after paying that money! We will see...

Hi Lievin. I do experience the same problems, and I find it fluctuates - some days things download quicker than on other days (this might depend on how busy the site is). Something I found that did improve my browsing was using Google Chrome which can be downloaded quickly and free of charge from Google. In my experience it's much faster than Internet Explorer and Firefox. Give it a try - I think you will find it better.

Thanks for your comments Kenneth.

I tried Google Chrome and I do not like it too much. But anyway, being this a paying site, it would be not reasonable to have "speed problems" when using common web browsers...

Maybe a staff member can say something about possible site's technical problems, or plans to increase site's bandwidth, or something of the like (?)
