Can someone tell me more about ratings here on chess.com

I noticed that there are 3 different (standard, blitz, and something else),why isn't there only 1 and when and how do they change?

trysts

They are based on time. Standard, for instance, you and your opponent have 15min. each side, to complete the game, blitz would be 5min., bullet would a minute, etc., with variations of the time for a game of chess, seperated into one of those categories. Your rating changes in these three levels of time control, everytime you complete a rated game.

If someone asks me what's my rating on chess.com, I tell him what?

Usually one refers to his/her turn-based rating, as that often most accurately represents a player's skill.

So, if time is set to 20 minutes, and I check mate him in 3, my blitz rating would change, and if I check mate him 15, than my standard rating would change, right?

so blitz is 0-5, standard 5-15 or... ?

it about the time for whole game doesn't matter when did you checkmate him.
When you play 5min game it means 5min for you and 5min for your opponent to think. Its about the setting of time control.

bullet 1min - 3min

blitz 5 - 10 min

standard 15+min

How about 12, 13 or 4?

i looked for it and this is it:

Bullet rating - For games under 3 minutes.

Blitz rating - For games of 3 minutes to 14 minutes.

Standard rating - For games 15 minutes and longer.

Unfortunately, you just ran into "anyone on the internet can answer your question and you don't know if they're right". In this case, you can clearly tell the answer can't be right because it doesn't cover all game lengths.

I can't find on this website a breakdown of the boundaries between bullet, blitz, and standard. I can tell you what is used at other sites.

Keep in mind some games have an increment, which is an amount of time added per each move. A game with 3 minutes to start and 0 increment is blitz, but 3 minutes to start with 30 seconds added each move is standard.

From the Free Internet Chess Server (FICS) help files

 Slowest Bullet (minutes|increment): 0|4, 1|2, 2|1

Fastest Blitz (minutes|increment): 0|5, 1|3, 2|2, 3|0

Slowest Blitz: 0|22, 1|20, 2|19, 3|17, 4|16, 5|14, ... , 13|2, 14|1

Fastest Standard: 0|23, 1|21, 2|20, 3|18, 4|17, ..., 12|5, 13|3, 14|2, 15|0
