Something weirds in the puzzles rating system

So I just reached 3000+ puzzle rating on Chess.com with a 36 win streak, which sounds great - but here's the strange part:

When I looked into my most recent 25 puzzles (the ones that helped me push over 3k), every single one of them was extremely easy - like, shockingly easy. I’m talking basic tactics that I could solve instantly without even thinking.

I double checked the ratings of those puzzles and… they were all rated around 1700-1800, which is over 1200 points lower than my actual puzzle rating.

To be honest, the puzzles I got back when I was hovering around 2200-2700 were way harder. I don’t know why this streak gave me such easy puzzles, but I was still getting +5 per solve, which made reaching 3000 feel kinda undeserved.

Anyone else experience something like this? Is this a bug, or some kind of system quirk?

There's a newer puzzle Difficulty setting. Try changing to Hard or Extra Hard.

That said, there are also some additional changes and more coming. I got the following information from staff

We are currently working on a significant overhaul of our puzzle difficulty system and puzzle ratings. Over time, the current puzzle rating algorithm created highly inflated puzzle ratings for our members — and consequent inaccurate estimates of a puzzle difficulty. As we roll out our new system, you may see some inconsistencies in your puzzle stats, and rating changes from puzzles solved and missed may be greater than in the past.

We ask you to wait with us just a bit longer! Since in the coming weeks we will be publishing an entirely new rating system for puzzles for all members. We’re confident it will be a major steps towards our ultimate goals:

 - Provide a more meaningful rating which correlates more closely to player’s Blitz and Rapid ratings.

 - Serve puzzles better suited for each player’s level.

 - Offer options to member who are looking for different puzzle-solving experiences.
