sound effect sudden change.

Hello chess community.. 
I am experiencing a problem with the sound effects for games. it all changes to a really annoying sound and I couldn't figure out how to turn it back to the way it was. I really hope this is a glitch I seriously don't want to get used to the new sounds. 

anyone having the same issue? 

Are you on one of the apps?

Are the sounds being played at standard times- like after a check?

i am using the website. and no it is not after a check. The theme is completely changed to a new theme. i did not change it and tried to change it back but still the same problem. 

Well I have mine set to default and have no issues.

What is yours set to? And what are you hearing?

In the past days, I've reported this bug on another thread and via the bug report feedback option, but I would like to ask for an update because I'm not sure if you have noticed it.

Context: Playing puzzles. Firefox on desktop (Windows). Default sounds. Clean browser cache.

Main issue: the checkmate sound doesn't trigger anymore. In its place a "check" sound is played.

Secondary issue: the "check" sounds is different from the usual one. Personally, I find it quite annoying.

Have you tried changing the sounds in the settings? Maybe you changed it and you have not noticed? 

It not, follow advice above. (Clear cache, try log in and out, update/change sounds to something else and see if it continues).

I've tried everything and the "checkmate" sound has simply disappeared. I've even evaluated the JavaScript code and I can't see any mention of a "checkmate" sound.

Hey everyone,  thanks for the replies and advice. I haven't tried any of them tbh. The problem worked itself out. But the website has been acting very strange the past two weeks! at least for me and a couple of users i have seen complaining in the forum section.

The problem I've had may not OP's, but my case is that it started to change the move sounds without touching any setting myself, in the past 10 days or so, today I found out the cause of the problem, is that it was set to "Marble" in the `Sound Theme` field in the settings https://www.chess.com/settings/board. Again, I've never touched this setting before. I changed it back to "Default" and the weird sound issue has solved for me. I later checked my another chess.com account, logged in, I confirmed the sound setting change in there as well. Obviously it seems chess.com backend is doing something weird on our settings.

and second: why in the menu I cannot test the sound I choose? This is Apple 20 years ago basic thing to do: do you expect I start a match with marble sound to see how it sounds?

Sometime you have some very basic and silly technologies in your application. (and I'm a diamond subscribers. Things are getting worse instead of getting better)

I am hearing a random sound coming from my chess.com tab while I have it open. Sounds like crumbling papers or burning wood for a second or so. No specific order or clear trigger/ pattern (Not a notification). I am using the default sound effect and only get the sound when I play on my browser. HELP.
