Sudden Game Abandoneds

suddenly game abandoned, plenty of time left: happened to me twice this morning. I use Mac. Firefox, perfect internet connection

i've lost 36 poinst due to sudden message of game abondoned in my last 3 games.please help.

This just happened to me using the iPhone app. It came up as reconnecting after I made a move and after about a minute it reconnected with my opponents clock running down. Two minutes later it said my opponent won due to me not being connected.

Here's another player with the same problem. I had just checked my opponent's king in one game and got the message that my opponent had won because i had supposedly abandoned the game.

No it hasn't been, i just (minutes ago) encountered the problem.

Today 8/15/13 at aprox 10 am same thing happened to me for the first time.I had just made a move and received the message that I abandoned the game and lost.Interestingly in all other occassions when my opponent did abandon a game the server would also issue a statement that 'his account may be restricted in the future'.I saw no such notice this time which tells me this is a technical glith. thanks

Sorry about the issue on there this morning, we had a nasty bug that was causing standard chess games to show as abandoned. Thankfully the bug has been found and fixed, and has been deployed onto live chess. The senior programmer (Piotr) and myself are monitoring it to make sure this time it stays fixed.

It just happened to me (11:50 edt, 80 minutes after your message).  Also, before this happened, I received a message that my opponent had disconnected and had 5 minutes to reconnect.  Nine minutes later, my opponent makes their move, and I lose because I supposedly abandoned the game.

I just played three games with no problem. Hopefully it's OK now. How is everyone else?

I can no longer move a piece in live chess. The board freezes and I can only move if I reload the page, but then the server resigned my game :(

Does it really say "blabla won by resignation"? If so, the same thing happened to me yesterday. After I reloaded my page my game was gone, and in my recent games I found out that I, or should I say the server, resigned the game for me.

I think I know that problem, there is a rule that when u dont make a move within 5 mins, ull automaticly lost. ( at standard ) blitz and bullets lost time are shorter. I had a really odd problem yesterday and Im interested if someone saw this too: I was playing a bullet game with an 1500 rated player and after 30-35 moves the game was aborted. Aborted! In the middle of the game, no timeouts, nothing. I was in à winning position and I nevern saw this before ( I played 4000 games ) so should he cheated or is this an odd incident?

That doesn't even make sense. When I'm playing a longer time (15+10 or 30) I do it so that I am able to think longer if I have to!

Also It can not possibly be the problem, because 2 of the 3 games I lost was while it was my opponents turn. It doesn't even say I abandoned - it says that I left (like it would when I disconnect) although I clearly didn't. Even if I did disconnect, It would usually wait 5 minutes before scoring me a loss.

Exactly. The server resigned my game during the reload, which takes at most a few seconds.
