Hi! According to your blitz graph, the last time you were 1400 was back in 2009, and ratings have changed since then. Anyway, you're right: in a way. IPad's have a significant disadvantage below computers with mice because you can play faster. You're likely playing at a stronger level then your opponents, so my suggestion would be to play blitz with high increment like 3/2 or even 5/5. This is just my opinion, and others might disagree, but yeah.
I’ve been using the iPad app now for a year and it’s always been laggy. My premoves take .2-.3 seconds, but despite this I got above 1400 and was happy being at a slight disadvantage as I loved the feel of the board and pieces.
A couple of weeks ago I lost a game by 25 seconds. Regardless of my ability, I’ve never lost a game by that much. I challenged the person to a rematch and pretty much made insta moves all the way through. My chess was dreadful because of it and I lost on time by 16 seconds.
My rating went from 1450 (ish... can’t remember) to sub 1200 and I’m now losing to players of 900 on time issues. I’m losing massively in streaks of 9-10 and I also can’t play well because I have to insta move just to lose on time by 8-15 seconds.
I decided to go on the website to see if that helped and discovered you can make multiple premoves easily. In an end came you can premove your king 10 times and if you’re lucky and avoid check it will action it for you.
Not sure if people on the website can play people on the app, but if that’s the case, the app is worthLess and not playable.
To put it in perspective I’m instamoving the majority of my moves and losing to 900 rated players on time. It’s meant chess.com is pretty much unplayable for me now.
Any thoughts/suggestions/sympathy😀
For information, I’ve got a very fast BT broadband connection and play over WiFi... wondered if there was a setting you could change?
many thanks all
