Tactics Trainer On Android Bug

While I did solve almost all of these correctly, it certainly took me longer than zero seconds to solve them... I think the timer on the Android app is a bit buggy. It's never going past 0 seconds for time spent after the first problem solved. It should be starting the timer up again between problems.

Alright, thanks for the response. :) I do appreciate being able to do tactics on my phone; it makes it easier to just relax in bed and do a few puzzles before I go to sleep.

I'm updated to the current version, and I noticed something interesting: the timer doesn't reset in portrait mode but it does reset when the Android is in landscape mode. In fact, if I start out a tactic in portrait mode I can "force" the timer to trigger by rotating my phone to horizontal and then back again. I hope this helps fix the bug.

so, if i want to keep using my android to bump my rating then i should never let the phone rotate into landscape mode? 

Heh, I suppose, but it only bumps your training rating.  In my personal opinion, that just hurts my ability to train better because then I get in too deep too fast otherwise. Though it does frustrate me that if you take too long on a tactic you get a negative score even if you succeed... and some of those time limits are kind of short.

ok, so i tried this and decided i didn't like the look of the TT in landscape mode, so i went back to cheating.  rotating back and forth was just more than i was willing to do. i am sure my rating will quickly go back to where it wants to be, though.  so i don't worry too much about it. 

for the time limits, though, they are set to twice the average time to solve. 

Ah, that's how they choose the time limits. I'm currently a very slow thinker when it comes to chess; I'm still very much a beginner. But I am able to solve 62% of the tactics on the first try! I just need to work on the "faster" part so that I can get out of the 600 level tactics range.

i am noticing that the higher i go the more thinking time i get.  i think the mentality changes from playing the first move you see fastest to trying to see all the way through.  use your android to get up higher then take your time :).
