Tagging users
No, only a notification that a reply had been posted to my thread. If you were to do the same in a different thread I wasn't already following I doubt I'd hear about it.
Does tagging a user in a forum post or club note or anything like that actually /do/ anything? Does it give that person any kind of alert they have been mentioned?
For clarity, I mean when people type things like @BaronVonChickenpants in a forum post to mention or reference that player.
It doesn't do anything, or at least not for non-staff. Can't say if there might be some code where it alerts for them ![]()
If it did give you a notification, it would result in people getting flooded with notifications, often about threads they're not interested in, simply because someone was talking about them - that would be quite annoying for mods, staff, and high-profile members of the community.
It would also result in people intentionally trolling people by flooding them with notifications.
If you want someone to see a thread, post a note on their page or send them a message.
