This is true, but on the other two top chess sites with a lot less funding don't have these latency issues.
the site is unusable for bullet chess

This is true, but on the other two top chess sites with a lot less funding don't have these latency issues.
They are hosted in different datacenters, likely share only a very small portion of the same path, likely have different loads, and may handle lag much differently than chess.com does (i.e. may be more forgiving or just rely on time seal and ignore lag).

I just wish they would fix it...because bullet is what most people play. That is why you see the ratings all jacked up. I don't care how good you are if you have your clock just randomly drop 5 or 10 seconds once or twice in a game....you are done.

A few years ago 5|0 and 3|0 were the most popular, with around 50% of the live games played daily. I would imagine that is probably still close to true today.

That said, the site is constantly making site updates and improving things. Unless the site moves to some other lag compensation mechanism, there isn't a whole lot else they can do.

"Unless the site moves to some other lag compensation mechanism, there isn't a whole lot else they can do." Thats exactly what they should do

I think the allowed lag may have been loosened at one point, but the site still only allowed some lag before counting the rest against the clock.
Maybe @erik will comment on if there is any thought on changing the current implementation. In previous discussion I had seen about it, the site implementation was the the preferred way they wanted to go.

Funny my post "PETITION TO IMPROVE CONNECTION" was deleted.
Guess one way to deal with the problem.....

different websites have different stability. It has to do with many factors, including the quality and happiness of the coders.
Being that this is the premiere chess website, you would think they would be leading the field in technology though? I started playing over at [another site -- MOD] and there have been zero issues in bullet over about 20 games. Rating is where it should be also. So it obviously is something on chess.com's end

Here is a perfect example of what i'm talking about. I'm up 30 seconds to like 17. Then all of a sudden my clock starts flashing and even though I've moved I drop 11 seconds..then the next move I move instantly..clock starts flashing..drops another 4 seconds!! So in 2 moves I spent 15 seconds and now I'm down on the clock even though my moves were instant. This is why the site for bullet is a joke.

I agree. Bullet has become untenable with the mobile app. Lose on time all the time. Never used to. I am done and gone. I have that chess.com couldn't get this simple thing right
it's really a disaster to play bullet on chess.com. Why can't this be done like on Lichess? At Chess.com, the pieces move very slowly. You first have to click a piece really well before you can move it. With Lichess this goes much faster. Chess.com is unsuitable for bullet and blitz! When will Chess.com do something about this? When will we get an answer?

I replied on your other post, but there are a lot of bullet and blitz games played every day without issues. You might check out the following:

Give me a break it has nothing to do with internet traffic its the protocol they use to determine your connectivity ... its just too sensitive. I lose connection on a 75Mb internet over ethernet ... I lose connection so much on mobile its russian roulette to play on a mobile.
Unless more people complain about this nothing will change ... I wont renew subcription thats for sure.
Your connection from your device to your ISP is only a small part of the connection. There are additional connections between your ISP and the chess.com datacenter. Lag can be introduced at any point in the path and potentially at multiple points.
