Time runs out even though the game says it’s not my turn

This keeps happening. I’m waiting for the other person to move and watching their clock ticks down and then I lose because time runs out. It even says that they’re gonna automatically resign in 10 seconds and count down. But then I lose. Why does this keep happening?
