Found out this is a known bug and should be fixed soon. If you change your language temporarily to English, you should be able to get it to work if you don't want to wait for the fix.
this problem is actually still happening... i guess no one has fixed it. my solution was just to block the card connected to the payment.

This is an old topic and the issue would have been fixed. Whatever is happening now is a different cause.
This problem is still relevant. I gave cc details to enter a trial but there is NO WAY I can cancel this trial or get help. This is just super shady and annoying. Apparently I will have to call my bank to tomorrow to stop chess.com taking money. 💰

I've started a trial and there is no way to stop this trial. Sure, after seven days, when I don't cancel it will be turned into a subscription. But after you Sign up, it's not possible to stop the trial. Or can you tell me how this is done Martin? Are you an employee of chess.com? Can you help me? At this moment it certainly doesn't feel risk free at all.
