Unfair Game

You need to stop thinking of it as an advantage. In that position in the game you had no advantage. Material doesn't matter if you can't do anything with it. Search for perpetual check.

Some chess sites give automatic draws to 3 reps, didn't know they didn't do that on this site.  At least I know I'll have to click 'draw' manually here.

I know perpetual check. However, i did not want to draw. Yo should investigate this game in my homepage, and yes i had advantages because i was going to checkmate.

Yeah they do on chesscube but I like the fact you have to claim it here, more in line with OTB rules.

In the game 30...Rf1 is a nice move.

Grandmasters use perpetual check too... it's part of endgame theory and everything.  It was your first time encountering it so I understand you were upset to learn this is a draw... but yes, it is a draw and it's a legitimate method of drawing a game.

You were a click away to draw the game, yet you lost.

Well, you didn't, so what are you complaining about?

No you didn't.

You're wrong again. You had ample time, so then why didn't you checkmate?

If you say you couldn't, then you have no case.

If you say you could, then show how you can walk out of the checks please. (And that is rhetorical)

Ok, all of you are right, I am wrong. But it is not fair, if perpetual check results to draw... OK?

You don't seem to understand (or aren't listening to) what people are saying to you. You do not have an advantage.

In this situation, what you can or can't do on your turn doesn't mean anything because it isn't your turn.

The reason they are telling you to take the draw is because, in this instance, you actually lost the game on time. A Draw better than a loss.

Your only options were to draw or lose. It's a fairly obvious decision to me.

Thetubester, why did i want to draw? Do you agree with me? I had advantages...

I understand what you mean, and I've had it done to me, too, but a draw was best in that game. His queen had too dominating of a position to get a win out of it.  Its a tactic of chess to use a perpetual as Mr. Weston said.  :(

Thank you, man. Your comment is happier to me...

That is a comment on the official rules. I understand it, but that is the way it is.

Maybe go play Stratego or Chinese chess, where 3 fold repetition is not allowed.

Oguz, a perpetual check IS fair to the rules of chess.  It feels like crap when its done to you, but its absolutely in the rules.  To be a top chess player, you need to learn all the weapons of chess.  A perpetual is a strong weapon for gaining a draw, legitimately.

I know man. But this situation is occurred one of million times statistically. Perputual check IS fair to the rules of chess but i had no options and i did not want to draw. Therefore, I am saying it is not fair.

Unfortunately you can only talk reason with reasonably intelligent people. Oguzatalay falls outside of this bracket, otherwise this thread would not have gone on for so long. Embrace the rules, and learn from your mistakes.

Oguzatalay, you should rather be glad that he missed the winning move 27...Re6.
