Vansishing Open Challenges

I have had two open challenges mysteriously not show up after posting them. I'm worried that if I keep making them, they will all simultaneously pop out of the ether and suddenly I'll be in more games than I can handle.

What is the deal with this? Has the problem been reported in the past, and if so, what is being done to fix it? I've only been a registered user for a few days, and running into a problem like this so soon will definitely be a negative factor in any subscription decision...

I started a thread for the same problem 3 days ago. Seems to be a bug afoot.

Somthing you might look into: Is it possible that if someone who doesn't meet the requirements (for example, rating, games played, or drop percentage) attempts to join the game, it rejects them AND kills the open challenge? As a programmer, I know that sometimes things like this are a bit hard to track down...

People who don't meet the requirements don't even see the challenge, as far as I can tell. I know whenever I look at open seeks, I only see those around my rating range, and some newbies at 1200 seeking anybody, with no rating requirements. I'm assuming the 2200+ people have minimum rating requirements that keep me from seeing their seeks, which is why I never have.

Sometimes I'll challenge and get no response. My "create new game"  challenge disappears from the screen, and I must keep the challenge active by doing the "create new game" trip again.  When the challenge again appears on the board the "cancel" in the "action" column has disappeared-- now just dashes.  I wonder whether I am still challenging, since a lot of time by then has gone by without anyone taking me up.  Is my challenge still O.K.?  Ideas?

Sometimes your challenge is accepted, and the person who accepted it doesn't like the color they received so they abort the game.

blake, I seriously doubt that's the case, because I always explicitly state which color I'm playing (I start challenges in pairs, one of each color) so they should know what they're getting. The only time I use "random" is if I'm challenging a specific player.

But the problem seems to be happening much less frequently now, and I noticed a couple of nights ago the site was down for around a half hour for maintenance. Perhaps they put in a fix.

I look in open seeks and find nothing, ever. 

If is submit a challenge, I usually get someone.  How are they seeing my challenges but I can't see anyone elses's challenges???
