What exactly is complete game analysis and opening explorer?

I'm considering buying a diamond membership but I was gonna ask about complete game analysis and opening explorer.

Obviously the idea of somebody or some computer analyizing my games sounds cool.  But how does it work on Chess.com?  Is it a real person who will write up a review?

And what does the opening explorer do?

Thanks for any help in advance.

Game analysis is done with a browser based engine. You load a completed game and choose the analysis option. There are three depths available as Diamond, each will analyse for a longer period.

Opening Explorer lets you look at a database of games, Master ones, yours, or a specific player here, and see the lines that are the most common and the results of those games.

Ok, thanks.

So when you say each will analyze the match.  What does that mean?  The computer tells me what I did wrong?  If so, how?

You can see what it mostly looks at now by running an analysis. You just get longer/deeper options with premium.

That's cool.  I appreciate the help.   Will run analysis next time.

Analyzing your games is a great way to learn where you went wrong in a loss. I find it's helped me improve my game immensely. Even just a quick analysis helps you realize where you went wrong. I love Game Explorer for searching for answers when I come across an unexpected move early in games by my opponent. I can see what others have done in similar situations. Both area great learning tools.

Interesting.  In addition to those things.  I think the lessons and tactics may justify the purchase.  I may start small with the cheap monthly membership, and build my way up if I feel like I should.

the analysis is better with the new version of the site, but it is apparently free for everyone now too.   Opening databases are all over the place free online as well, so don't buy into cdc for these 2 things.  Buy into cdc to see the videos and do the training stuff and because you want to and can afford to support the site.    Or to join more tournaments.  These 2 features are the least reasons to buy in.

Okay, cool.  And what about the tournaments?  Do they do anything?  Do they help you improve?
