why is my rating not going up when I beat someone of a higher rating

I played against an opponent that had 200 more rating than me. They resigned in the middle game and my rating didn’t go up. Why is this?
It's possible that you might have been playing an unrated game. ( https://support.chess.com/article/1311-how-do-i-play-an-unrated-game )
But if you're talking about this particular daily game you played today (https://www.chess.com/game/daily/479581675) and where the rating difference was 200, it was indeed rated, and you did gain a +10 rating from it.
