Are you using IE 10? Are you able to try using a mouse to see if that changes your experience at all?
windows 8 tablet
Thanks for your reply. I have used the desktop view and the google chrome routes and neither have worked. I can't plug in a mouse. It's just not accepting moves that involve captures - all the other moves work. Weird problem!
I don't know if it really works or not but I think he means connecting the mouse and the tab through bluetooth.
Thanks strageic play - I am afraid bluetooth is a bit beyond me. I will continue to fiddle around and see what crops up.
I've had Windows 8 RT and yes, a mouse will work, but touch with finger won't allow to capture pieces. Weird indeed. I got an Ipad mini but will sale it when the 8 inch windows tab is out.
Unfortunately we don't currently support the touch screen functions of Windows 8. You should however be able to play without issue when using a mouse.
looking forward to touch screen function on this or windows 8 app, as well as premove for ipad....very important in bullet.

Yes, I second that no premove on iphone or ipad = no blitz
Anyone able to help. I have a windows 8 tablet. The site loads up ok and I acn play up until I want to capture a piece - then it does not accept the move. Any ideas gratefully received. thanks
I will give you Last Rites. Windows 8?!? Windows Anything should be seen as the equivalent of a Skull and Crossbones. I use Linux for 99.999% of everything I do, and then use Windows 2000 Professional as a Virtual Machine under Linux on the rare occassions I can't run whatever under Linux, and it can ONLY be run under Windows (sadly there are some things -- still -- which run ONLY under Windows). While this maybe hoping for too much is there anyway to nuke Windows 8 and install Windows 7?!? I know a lot of Windows users and NONE -- repeat NONE -- of them will touch Windows 8. I will not repeat exactly what their opinions about Windows 8 are as they would be considered "unprintable", and they are long time Windows users.
If your tablet is an Android device, and can hold a micro SD card, you might be able to dual-boot it and by-pass the native OS, and run an Android OS which is based on Linux. Somehow I suspect you bought into the M$ hype and bought one of their Surface tablets -- or whatever they are called -- in which case you are pretty much screwed. M$ is losing money on their Surface -- or whatever they are called -- tablets because no one is buying them. No one wants to buy anything that has a M$ logo on it, simply because you become a paying beta tester for M$, and people are wising up. In the future if you must buy a name brand, buy Apple since at the very minimum it has been tested and 99.9% of all possible bugs worked out, and runs like it is suppose to; you can't say the saame thing about M$ products. If M$ *gave* me one I might experiment with it, and if it is as bad as I have heard, I could always use it as A) giant coaster B) Frisbe C) Hot Plate protector.
help?
Unfortunately right now the site still isn't compatible with Windows 8 touch screen mode. You'll still need to use a mouse to capture pieces.
Hi - thanks for your reply, will use the mouse then :-/
any plans for a windows phone version of the mobile app? or even a windows 8 app ?
Thanks again for this great site.
just bumping this to show interest, the new windows 8.1 tablets are awesome, please make a windows app!!!!
I just purchased a Dell Venue, i love the thing, but if i can't play chess.com on it, i'm returning it for the nexus 7, LOL. Any estimated release date, even if unpromised and a wild guess? I'm sure there are alot of users highly interested in an app since the web function will not work on touch screen tablets using windows 8. or 8.1
