Please xplain to me the calculation used for a person to win on time. I am ahead everytime, yet loose due to the opponent winning on time, yet, I move faster than my opponent. How does this work

Sorry you're having trouble in live chess! Can you please let me know what browser and operating system you use?

Browser? I think you replied to the wrong post. I am hpoing to discover the formula for calculating a winner based upon time. I have played numerous games, in which I am ahead in piece count, and I have used up less time in moving, yet the opponent wins the game based upon time. I would like to know what the formula is on this calculation of who wins.

Formula-you run out of time, you lose! Also known as TRO=L

(Time runs out=loss)

And we'll see you in a few days after your post 'My opponent ran out of time and got a draw'.

briscoma

Wrong. It is not even my move, I am not running out of my play time. The game clock is expiring and I lose on time, even though I am ahea in piece count and I hae played faster than my opponent. I want to know why this happens

It's lag - communications between you and the server are disrupted and either you aren't getting your opponent's move or the server doesn't get your move in time.  Either way, you're running out of time without realizing it.
