Wrongful Resignations..

But it's not left open. That's the beauty of those apps. Android handles the memory management. You don't have to physically close them. Android does it for you!

Thanks for the reply, but I don't see how it's relevant to my post, which is simply asking WHY WAS I AUTO RESIGNED, JUST BECAUSE I LEFT THE ONGOING GAME FOR 45 SECONDS OR SO, ESPECIALLY WHEN I HAD PLENTY OF TIME LEFT, IE, 6 MINUTES, NOT TO MENTION I WAS WINNING 😯🤔

Oh yeah, the chess app WAS left open OBVIOUSLY, since, upon returning to the game 45 seconds later, I DID NOT HAVE TO OPEN THE APP AGAIN. So my question still stands.

Because Android closes the app to save your battery.

Thanks for the link. I'll go check it, BUT how could the app be closed (by Android), if I didn't have to reopen the app, open returning the game? So if I leave my bedroom window open (as opposed to my chess app open), go to shower (check messaging app), and then return to my bedroom, I have to reopen the window, that wasn't even closed in the first place? Don't you get it?? I'm saying, THAT I RETURNED TO (THE LEFT OPEN CHESS APP) WITHOUT HAVING TO REOPEN IT, but nonetheless, I had been automatically resigned, even though I had 6 minutes left. IT WAS AS IF I HAD

Believe it or not, it's different than leaving your window open while you shower.

Pretty sure the apps are set that if you leave the app, it counts it as abandonment of the game. I've never actually tested it, but I have seen a number of similar topics where people have it happen. Pretty sure it is by design.

If you Google this problem, everyone suggests that you have to change your settings so that the Chess app can use battery when it is not active. Why not give it a try?

My Final Post On This Thread I Created Is THIS: I Just Did A Search On These Two Combined Words: 'Automatic Resignations' I Was Thoughly Relieved, At Least To Discover That TONS Of Complaining Comments Existed Essentially Saying The Same Thing As Me😲! And Touche To The Person ThatbUsed The Phase 'Multitasking', Because YES ECACTLY-While Awaiting An Opponents Move, It's Very Convenient To Be Able To Get Other Things Done, Whether They Be Checking Text Messages, Working On A Spreadsheet, Applying For A Job, Or Even Relieving Oneself On P*#RNHUB (Not Speaking From Personal Experience, Necessarily Of Course 🤣🤣). Thanks To The Person Who Stated That Automatic Resignations Happen On His iPhone As Well. And Thanks To The People Who Informed Me That Android Is The 'Culprit' And/Or Suggested To Check Settings (However, I Stand By My Previous Post, Basically Asing How Can An App/Window Automatically Be Closed, When I Go Back To The Chess.com App (Simply By Tapping On The ALREADY OPEN Cascaded Window?) Your Very First Post On This Thread Suggested How Convenient It Is That Android Closes The Window Automatically When You leave it. That Reply Annoyed Me Tremendously For Two Reasons, The First Of Which I Already Addressed (The App/Window Never WAS Closed Automatically), And The Second Being THIS; THE FACT THAT YOU THOUGHT IT WAS CONVENIENT THAT ANDROID WOULD AUTOMATICALLY CLOSE AN APP FOR YOU, SO AS TO SAVE BATTERY POWER!! Because I Would Find THAT ANNOYING😡, NOT CONVENIENT🤔-I Would Prefer To RETAIN The Power That It Takes To Close An App/Window (A Millisecond🤣🤣)! To Me Anyway That's Like Having A Toilet Automatically Spray Water Up My A**, When I'd Prefer To Wipe Myself With TP, The Old-Fashioned Way 😏😉!! M

There is no problem with playing it in PC windows by using separate tab from the main tab.
Perhaps there is setting for separate tab in Android.

Just discovered from a similar post that the very likely reason these automatic resignations occur, is supposedly to prevent cheating! THAT at least thankfully, gives me closure to the issue. Pretty sure this issue has nothing to do with Android or iPhones, but everything to do with the chess app! But I honestly don't know for sure, as I haven't read the minutiae of the terms of use policy.

Yeah chess.com does not want to keep people waiting, if you haven't made a move after a while it auto-resigns. Lucky for me I am playing on a MacBook so I can have multiple things opened at the same time.

Thank you commentor #17 for that info about How To Stop Android From Killing..Im learning something new everyday, I mean like 5 plus things everyday, given this information age. Amazing that the Bible says in Daniel 12:4 that many shall run to and fro, AND KNOWLEDGE SHALL INCREASE 😲. How lucky we are to be alive during the end of days 😬
