5+ Minute Wait Times to Find Opponent?

As my rating has climbed, the wait time to find opponents is getting obscene for me.  I'm having to wait 5+ minutes of seek time for one game.  At the end of a session I usually get at least one game back if not more because there are so many botters.

I guess this is "the dream." meh.png

You just played 20 3 0 blitz games in the last two hours.

It is possible there was a server reset at some point. That is the time of day they usually get done.

Was a really bad period for like 1-2 hours there.  Been quite busy after.  Maybe has something to do with the time of day in different regions? Glad it's better.

It can be due to that. Different parts of the world have different time clocks, but the number of players may be more concentrated in a certain region than others. Take my country for example. It's 2:30 am in my country, so you would not expect many players from my country playing at this hour even though I know it's either afternoon or evening in the US. This could be one reason why getting matched can get difficult at certain times.

What do I do?

I am now waiting 5-10 minutes to get matched with an opponent for an unrated game with no rating limits set for opponent. Something isn't right

But no, I'm openly mocking a silly thread, which is by no mean "trolling". Why do so many have got such a poor understanding of words? Do you only know you have got dictionaries online available? Including "Urban Dictionary"?

Do you ever bother looking up the actual meaning(s) of a word?

5 min is a long wait for a chess game. And if you have the luxury to think that 5 minutes are just no big deal in your life, count yourself lucky I guess?

I believe it is the server issues. My friend told me he has the same problem in open challenges for unrated rapids. So, hopefully after the server issues get fixed this does too?

I absolutely hate the user interface of chess.com since the Live changover. Never mind the wait, it seems I just get connected to the same person repeatedly, and its as though there are only 30 players here at chess.com - repeat matches with the same strangers. System is broken as far as i am concerned

That happens because you have been playing unrated games since last November. Very few people are playing unrated or using open challenges because matching is usually so quick in the main time controls.

Naturally, you are getting repeatedly matched with the few who do play unrated.

Try playing a few rated games.

One of my friends says that unrated matches are even slower if you haven't played much rated in a while. Is this true, or is it just his feeling?
