Always playing Black in blitz

Hi, i've just started playing in the Live Chess blitz area. Today, I had a game as White, but it (or my opponent) aborted before I could play a move. In my next game as Black everything was fine. Then in my next game (as White), it aborted again. So the next game was with Black. This cycle repeated a third time, so I have now played 4 consective games as Black. Is this a coincidence, a bug, or am I being 'gamed' into playing only games as black?

Sometimes you get streaks like that but it will balance out in the long run.

At least you won't get any false accusers on your profile page claiming you only play as white. I just got one today.

Happens to me all the time as well...I never get to play any games with White in blitz.. Good to hear that im not the only one that find this annoying.

Uh, Kris?  These are your blitz records...You might have been exaggerating just a little.  Still, a 10% difference is a lot.

You can not count the games I never get to play.. Hade a few aborts in a row and saw the post. Played some live tournements to get some games as white.

Aborts should never happen...is what I think. One is to many if it's just because you got Black to play...

If it helps any, serial aborters soon lose their right to abort.  There are so many new members though that it remains a problem.  I wouldn't be at all surprised if they eventually did away with it altogether.  Sorry to be so nosy poking around in your game stats.  I obviously have no life.  

Loads of people get posts on their notes page from people saying things like "only plays black".  Funny how when I look at their stats they always have 50/50.

You still haven't played many games yet though so the variance from 50/50 is always likely to be bigger on a smaller number of games.

You do often get runs of one colour though - this was my recent run in Bullet and Blitz:

yep 2 out of 3 games for me in recent times are black and nothing to do with the other player aborting

so someone is getting all the white games

Somebody has to have 2 out of 3 black.  

You have 19131 white and 19127 black in blitz. Doesn't seem too much of an imbalance to me.

dont know where you get your figures from, and dont care, i know what appears in front of my face and sometimes 4 and 5 times in a row i am black just the last couple of weeks. get some tact in the way you reply perhaps.

Hmm. Not sure if we need to go into quantum theory here.

I did actually send in a question to staff after I had something like 6 Blacks in a row and 9 in 10 games.  I only play one 10 minute Blitz game per day in my lunch break so when you get a whole run of black's that's a whole week of games!  I wouldn't normally have noticed, except I was in a rut at the time where I just kept losing with Black and was irritated at constantly having to play it.

I know perfectly well it evens itself out, but I had assumed the pairing system used some more intelligent algorithm to determine colours - i.e. after pairing two players that it would look at their recent colours and give white the the player with longest since their last white, or something along those lines, but they told me every game the colours are just decided totally at random.
