no.
Another login has been detected?
It has been happening to me today, too. I lost a game on time as a consequence. I do play blitz both on my iPad and on my notebook, as well as sometimes on my desktop. But, I never have Chess.com open on more than one device. My iPad was closed when I recieved this message six times on my notebook this morning.
Can you make sure you do log off the iDevice before playing on anything else (web or other device).
No. When the cover is closed, it is off. That should be sufficient. The problem is on your end. That's where the solution should be found.
This can happen if you have more than a few windows open, and one times out. I think. It has happened to me, and that is what I have found it to be.
This happens to me a lot - whenever I left click on someone in live chess and bring up their info in another tab, for instance.
The iOS device problem is actually not new. It has happened to me several times. When I contacted the administration about it, they informed me that they are working to fix the problem.
Until they find a fix, I would do as kohai suggested and log out of the app before playing live chess. Yes, the problem is indeed on their end, but programming these kind of large scale, multi-platform web applications is no easy task and the people here have done a great job of it for the most part. Computers are not magical devices that are automatically suited to meet the needs of users, and not every bug can be fixed easily. In fact, some bugs are inherent in the platforms themselves.
In any case, you're receiving a free service. Logging out of your ipod/pad/phone will fix the problem. So from a purely practical perspective, it would be beneficial to your rating to follow the staff's advice.
Well, I for one am shocked and saddened to hear that computers are not magical devices, bugs are not always simple to fix, and that programming large scale multi-platform web apps is in fact not an easy task.

From a practical perspective, I am following Kohai's advice. I appreciate the programming difficulties. I'm happy to know they are working on the problem.
I've been using Chess.com's iPad app since September 2010, but only had this issue in the past few days.
Chess.com may be available for free, but I am a paying member.
Thanks for all the comments... I hadn't realised that it might be the iPad.
I can imagine that this could be difficult to fix, though I'm not sure what's being protected here. That someone might log on with my iPad at the same time? Why would that even matter? If I was sad and desperate enough to cheat I would just open up a computer chess program, wouldn't I?
Thanks for the advice, I'll make sure to log off the app when I'm finished.
just happened. always used to happen on tabs I didn't care about, this message would be there when I went back to close them but now mid game
another login detected
game is gone-totally
and yes i have the iphone app but i have had it for many many months and this is the first instance- maybe the redesign of the site
it'd be nice if it didn't obliterate the active game-maybe if it says another login detected you could have a button that says "kill that other login" and then get on with the game.
It happens to me as well. usally the alert "Another Login has been detected" appears at the end of a match, and when I'm winning...I have a suspect, that maybe some of you can confirm.
It might be that the othe player, when it is losing, instead of resigning, is loggin in from another access point. It this way, when i see the alter, I push the ok button and I automatically loose the game (since it is like I'm resigning).
Dos it make sense? Could be this a unfair way of some players of not losing any points?
all the blah blah and I don't see an solution. I agree that when exiting chess.com on any device Chess.app (ipad or iphone), that should be sufficient to logg off! So...it might be tht tabs, as Chess.com likes to open a million tabs...which seems to (perhaps) attempt to log you on again? It doesn't make sense. I try to then close all the damn tabs as i RUSH to save my blitz game to no avail. I still don't have a solution or an answer. rats.

Well, you know what they say: if you don't like it, do it yourself. :)
I keep getting bumped from the server with the warning 'Another Login has been detected'
Any ideas why this is happening? I only have one browser open.
