I wish I was you!! Oh, that's just too much! Hahahaha... Oh, my stomach hurts. Im laughing too hard. I read the accounts (sock puppets?) connected with you know who & they're sooo fuggin funny. The first one: Bad_Girl_Latonya. Oh that's a good one. Look at the join dates & they just happen to all be connected. Friends list, posting on each others home page, etc. But funny chit.
Kleelof is some darn genius. Even he don't know zip about sarcasm.

Don't worry about it. The chess.com server admin will check the IPs for the two accounts, and if they aren't from the same DSL feed, he won't ban both the accounts.

It depends on the sample as to what you believe is average. If you put a board down in the street and random people sat down to play you, a rating of 1300 would win you pretty much every game. Obviously if the sample is seasoned tournament chess players you would need to be considerably better to win. I found when I started on here, 2 years ago, that I couldn't beat 1000 rated players, you miss the most basic of lines and just aren't able to calculate the patterns, and never really knew what I was trying to do. My goal then was to get my ratings up above 1000. Now I am in the upper quartile on all ratings distributions and I think 16/1700 is possible. It was all about experience and understanding the game for me, think to get above 2000 a certain amount of studying and dedication is required. I still only know a couple of e4/d4 openings and even then only for 3 or 4 moves.

pistol603 your comment is so inspiring and helpful, thanks so much, I am sure it will help many of us with a lower rating to feel encouraged about our abilities to achieve so much more in the future.
What do people value more, the chess rating or the lust for gold and trophies?
I simply play for fun, if my rating goes up, fine, and if i win a tournament, fine too. But the goal to play chess is to have a nice time.

No it's not. It is all about crushing your opponent and leave him crying like a little baby.
One Governor of California said something similar after winning a gladiator fight. Soon after he started to search the riddle of steel.
I think out of the chess playing public the average is around 1200, at the club level I would say 1500 or 1600. Put those together and 1350 sounds like a reasonable average.
On this site I have come across strong 1400 players and weak 1900 players, so take it with a grain of salt.
I've seen guys who are over 30 still struggle to reach past an easy 1300. I personally reached 1800 before I was even in middle school when I was competing nationally across the U.S , some people just get chess naturally.
