cheating in live chess

I don't have a terrible internet connection, but it isn't the fastest, either. Occasionally my timer will lag 20-30 seconds and although irritating, has never caused an issue with a game.

I just played a 10 minute where I took a 3pt lead. After my opponent, , took over a minute, I messaged him "gg" and he responded. I then waited as over five minutes counted down, his time expired, and the app lagged for 10-15 seconds.

All of the sudden, I lost by timeout. I have screenshots and will attempt to post them.

This is disappointing and betrays the very essence of why chess is played. Please let me know if this is a common experience.

Youre not supposed to name and shame.  If you suspect cheating report it here.  What probably happened is you lost connection.

I'm almost certain you lost connection, that is a common issue.

I did not lose connection, which is why I was able to both send and receive messages. Every other time, the app has notified me of my disconnect.

As a network security developer, I understand common error. However, I was up over a minute on time as well - but the game ended, in my opponent's favor, 10 seconds after his time expired, not mine.

I'll use the report link, thank you for that.
