I do queen odds with my fiance. Not that i'm that good myself, and we will do time handicaps. she'll have 20 mins and i'll have 5. It works for both of us as it still gives me a challenge and she learns new things too. she's not past the stage where she's aware that pieces can move backwards too lol

Maybe she is very intelligent? What if she makes you feel like you're smarter so you don't feel unworthy in her presence?
